Burkina Faso : La période de transition est fixée à 3 ans avant les élections
Le président de la transition au Burkina Faso, le lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo, a signé mardi 01 mars 2022, une « charte constitutionnelle de la transition » qui fixe à trente-six mois la période de transition avant de nouvelles élections.
« La durée de la transition est fixée à trente-six mois à compter de la date de l’investiture du président de la transition », le lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo, stipule une « charte constitutionnelle de la transition » qu’il a signée à l’issue des travaux d’assises nationales rassemblant « les forces vives » du pays qui l’investiront mercredi.
La durée de cette période de transition est supérieure à celle de trente mois proposée par une commission technique mise en place par la junte début février et par un projet de charte qui a été discuté pendant plusieurs heures par les assises nationales lundi et mardi.
Les travaux de ces assises ont impliqué les militaires au pouvoir, les partis, syndicats, organisations de la société civile, de la jeunesse, des femmes et des personnes déplacées par les attaques jihadistes qui frappent le Burkina Faso depuis 2015.
La charte stipule par ailleurs que le président de la transition « n’est pas éligible aux élections présidentielle, législatives et municipales qui seront organisées pour mettre fin à la transition ». Cette disposition s’applique également aux 25 membres du gouvernement de transition dont « le Premier ministre est une personnalité civile ».
