Les citoyens togolais seront bientôt appelés aux urnes pour deux scrutins. Il s’agit des élections régionales et législatives.
Le gouvernement se prépare activement pour l’organisation de ces élections régionales et législatives qui auront lieu cette année au Togo.
En perspective à ces élections qui s’annoncent, le chef de l’Etat Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé a pris mercredi 21 décembre 2022, un décret portant création des commissions électorales locales indépendantes (CELI) qui serviront de relais à la commission électorale nationale indépendante CENI
Au total, 56 Celi viennent d’être créées et sont réparties sur toute l’étendue du territoire national et couvrant les 117 communes que compte le Togo. Elles auront pour mission d’exécuter les décisions de la commission électorale nationale indépendante et de superviser les opérations de vote dans les différentes communes.
Il sied de rappeler que la commission électorale nationale indépendante a été déjà installée depuis avril 2022 et dont les 17 membres qu’elle compte ont déjà prêté serment. La CENI actuelle est présidée par Yago Dabre, issu de la société civile.
