Il existe pourtant certaines «thérapies» qui proposent un élargissement (fréquemment plus par appât du gain que pour des raisons médicales), mais attention, ceci est fortement déconseillé, car les résultats de ce genre de chirurgie sont bien souvent catastrophiques.
Dans bien des cas, le problème peut être résolu très simplement, en apprenant à mieux connaître son corps et à l’aide d’exercices permettant de contrôler les muscles autour du vagin.
Le vaginisme peut apparaître si de précédentes pénétrations vaginales ont causé une douleur, la peur d’avoir mal qui prend alors le dessus peut provoquer des contractions des muscles du vagin.
