Prestation de serment du président du Faso : le lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba pour un retour à l’intégrité
(Ouagadougou, 16 février 2022). Le président du Mouvement patriotique pour la Sauvegarde et la Restauration (MPSR), le lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, a prêté serment ce matin à Ouagadougou, au cours d’une audience solennelle du Conseil constitutionnel, en qualité de président du Faso, chef de l’État, chef suprême des Armées.
« Je jure devant le peuple burkinabè et sur mon honneur, de préserver, de respecter, de faire respecter, de défendre la Constitution, l’Acte fondamental, et les lois, de tout mettre en œuvre pour garantir la justice à tous les habitants du Burkina Faso », s’est engagé le lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, devant les Sages du Conseil constitutionnel.
Le Conseil constitutionnel « vous donne acte de votre serment, vous déclare installé dans vos fonctions de président du Faso et vous renvoie à l’exercice de vos fonctions », a dit son président par intérim, Bouraïma Cissé.
S’adressant au président du Faso, le président par intérim du Conseil constitutionnel a relevé qu’« Il est urgent et impératif de recouvrer toutes les parties occupées de notre territoire, ces zones occupées au grand malheur de nos braves populations qui ne demandent qu’à vivre en paix ».
Dans son discours, le président du Faso a d’abord rendu hommage aux victimes civiles et militaires qui ont « payé le prix du sang dans la guerre » que le Burkina Faso mène contre le terrorisme.
Il a ensuite salué l’engagement et le courage des Forces de Défense et de Sécurité (FDS) ainsi que des Volontaires pour la Défense de la Patrie (VDP) qui défendent au péril de leurs vies la Nation contre le terrorisme.
Pour le chef de l’État, l’œuvre de refondation portée par le MPSR est un projet de transformation positive profonde qui consiste à revenir aux valeurs fondamentales de notre société et les replacer au centre de toutes nos actions.
« Il s’agit d’intégrer, dans nos comportements de tous les jours, quels que soient nos origines, notre métier, nos responsabilités ou notre réalité sociale, la valeur d’intégrité dont notre pays porte le nom », a indiqué le lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba.
La restauration de l’intégrité territoriale du Burkina Faso est une priorité qui appelle d’urgence des actions immédiates. Au-delà des réformes en cours, le président du Faso a appelé les Forces armées nationales au combat pour redonner espoir aux Burkinabè. « Il nous faut donner à nos populations des raisons d’espérer ; il nous faut leur insuffler notre rage de vaincre ; il nous faut leur donner l’envie de s’engager à nos côtés », a soutenu le lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba qui a appelé à un sursaut patriotique et à « se révolter (…) pour gagner cette guerre ».
La dépolitisation de l’administration publique, la lutte contre la corruption, le traitement diligent des dossiers pendants en justice sont autant d’actions à engager avec détermination, selon le président du Faso, pour la transformation de la société que les Burkinabè appellent de tous leurs vœux. Il a alors mis en garde tous ceux qui seraient tentés de faire obstruction au processus en prenant en otage le peuple.
Le chef de l’État a aussi appelé les partenaires internationaux à accompagner le Burkina Faso pour la réussite de cette période d’espoir pour le pays.
« En ce qui me concerne, je mesure la charge et la gravité des responsabilités qui me reviennent. Je connais les enjeux et je sais les attentes. Dans l’esprit des aspirations de notre peuple, je m’engage à gouverner par l’exemple et dans la sobriété, loin du faste des temps de paix », a rassuré le lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba.
