Affaire des « biens mal acquis »:Quand Omar Bongo Ondimba offrait un appartement parisien à Sonia Rolland
Selon le quotidien « Libération », la justice française a convoqué l’actrice franco-rwandaise pour l’entendre, dans le cadre de l’affaire des « biens mal acquis », au sujet d’un appartement qui lui a été offert par Omar Bongo Ondimba en 2003.
« Recel de détournement de fonds publics ». Telle est l’accusation qui pèse sur la Franco-rwandaise de 40 ans, actrice, réalisatrice et ancienne Miss France. Selon une information du quotidien français Libération, Sonia Rolland a été entendue début janvier par un commandant de l’Office central de répression de la grande délinquance financière (OCRGDF).
Ce qui a attiré l’attention des enquêteurs, c’est un appartement situé dans le XVIe arrondissement parisien, acheté « sur plan » en 2003 pour la coquette somme 800 000 euros et offert à la jeune femme par Omar Bongo Ondimba.
C’est en enquêtant sur le patrimoine de la famille Bongo, dans le cadre de l’affaire des « biens mal acquis », que les hommes de l’OCRGDF ont découvert l’existence de cet appartement.

Comment et dans quelles circonstances l’actrice l’a-t-elle reçu ? Née au Rwanda d’un père français et d’une mère rwandaise, Sonia Rolland a quitté son pays d’origine à l’âge de huit ans. Elle a remporté le concours de Miss France en 2000 et crée l’année suivante une association qui finance des projets pour les enfants rwandais, notamment les orphelins du génocide.
Une fois sa couronne rendue, la Miss continue à parrainer des concours de beauté. C’est à cette occasion qu’elle rencontre la première dame du Gabon de l’époque, Edith Bongo – celle-ci la voit « comme sa petite sœur », explique Sonia Rolland à Libération. Elle fait ensuite la connaissance de son époux, Omar Bongo Ondimba, président du Gabon de 1967 jusqu’à sa mort, en 2009.

Selon Libération, le bien immobilier a été acheté via une entreprise de décoration française avec des chèques émis par la BNP. Un compte de la filiale de la banque française au Gabon était alimenté par des valises de cash livrées par des proches d’Omar Bongo, précise le quotidien. Les enquêteurs estiment à une vingtaine le nombre de biens achetés via ce procédé, pour un total de 40 millions d’euros.
Interrogé par Libération, Sonia Rolland assure qu’elle ne savait rien de l’étonnant montage utilisé pour acheter l’appartement qui lui a été offert, et ne s’être jamais doutée que ce cadeau aurait pu être lié à des malversations. Elle affirme aussi qu’elle n’était pas en position, à l’époque, de refuser un tel présent (elle était alors âgée de 22 ans).
Depuis plus de dix ans, la police judiciaire française enquête sur les biens acquis par certains dirigeants du continent et sur les circonstances de leur acquisition. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, le fils du président équato-guinéen, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, a ainsi été condamné en 2017 à trois ans de prison et 30 millions d’euros d’amende avec sursis pour « blanchiment d’abus de biens sociaux ».
