Network/Le Play Store et l’App Store sont envahis d’applications frauduleuses cherchant à arnaquer les utilisateurs Android et iOS.
Après enquête, Avast a en effet découvert la présence de 204 applications dites “fleeceware” sur les deux boutiques. Ces applis sont uniquement conçues pour siphonner le compte bancaire des utilisateurs via des abonnements facturés au prix fort.
Un nouveau rapport d’Avast met en garde les utilisateurs Android et iOS contre les fleecewares. Un fleeceware est une application destinée à abonner ses victimes à des services payants. “Ces applications proposent d’abord aux utilisateur de tester un service gratuit” explique Avast dans son enquête.
Bien souvent, les fonctionnalités proposées sont déjà offertes par des services gratuits et légitimes. Les pirates comptent sur la crédulité des internautes. “Ces applications n’ont généralement pas de véritable fonctionnalité” abonde la firme de sécurité informatique.
Une fois la période d’essai terminée, l’application va vous facturer des sommes colossales via la carte de crédit encodée dans votre compte sur le Play Store ou sur l’App Store. Ces abonnements “peuvent parfois atteindre les 3 432 $ par an”, met en garde Avast. Evidemment, les pirates tablent sur la distraction des utilisateurs qui oublient de résilier un service avant la fin de la période d’essai.
Comme on a pu le voir avec les fleecewares repérés par Sophos, il est possible que les applications en profitent pour collecter les données personnelles de leurs victimes. Avast fournit une liste d’applications considérées comme des arnaques. Les 204 applis ne sont pas répertoriées. On imagine que les quelques applis restantes ont été bannies des boutiques.
