Dans le cadre des opérations de sécurisation du territoire national, deux incidents sont intervenus ce jeudi 05 mai 2022 dans les régions du Nord et du Centre-Nord, informe dans un communiqué, l’état-Major général des armées.
Le premier incident a concerné une patrouille du détachement militaire de Sollé qui a été prise à partie lors de sa progression à une dizaine de kilomètres de Sollé, dans la Province du Loroum. Selon le bilan établi par l’armée, « deux militaires et quatre Volontaires pour la Défense de la Patrie (VDP) ont été mortellement touchés. »
Les éléments de l’Unité Spéciale d’Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale (USIGN) en opération ont également riposté à une embuscade tendue par des terroristes à Ouanobé, dans la Province du Sanmatenga. Selon l’armée, ce deuxième incident de la journée de ce jeudi a malheureusement coûté la vie à cinq gendarmes. « Les blessés, au nombre de 09, ont été évacués et pris en charge ». Côté ennemi, informe l’armée, « une vingtaine de corps de terroristes ont été dénombrés lors des opérations de sécurisation ». Aussi, de l’armement, des munitions, des moyens
roulants et de communication ont-ils également été détruits ou récupérés.
« Le Chef d’Etat-Major Général des Armées salue la memoire des combattants tombés qui se sont battus avec courage et détermination pour mettre hors de combat les assaillants. Il souhaite un prompt rétablissement aux blessés et félicite lensemble des forces pour leur engagement qui contribue à améliorer la situation sécuritaire dans plusieurs localités de notre pays. », conclut le communiqué
