Dans le sillage de la Russie, l’Irak, l’Algérie, l’Arabie saoudite, les Émirats arabes unis et le Koweït, ont annoncé dimanche une réduction de leur production de pétrole.
Cette coupe annoncée par ces états producteurs de l’or noir, débutera en mai et perdurera jusqu’à la fin de l’année. Il y aura donc 1,650 millions de barils en moins par jour sur le marché. Ces baisses ont lieu « en coordination avec certains pays membres de l’Opep et non membres de l’Opep« , selon le ministère algérien de l’Énergie.
Les géants pétroliers du Golfe évoquant une «mesure de précaution» visant à stabiliser le marché.
Depuis octobre 2022, jamais une telle baisse de production n’avait été envisagée. Riyad, Abou Dhabi et le Koweït réduiront leur production d’un total de 772.000 barils par jour (bpj) dès mai, et ce, jusqu’à la fin de l’année, ont déclaré les trois pays du Golfe dans des communiqués publiés par leurs médias officiels respectifs.
Dans le détail, Ryad va réduire sa production de 500.000 bpj, l’Irak de 211.000 bpj, les Émirats de 144.000 bpj, le Koweït de 128.000 bpj, l’Algérie de 48.000 bpj et Oman de 40.000 bpj, ont déclaré chaque pays via leurs agences de presse officielles respectives.
Selon les informations, les cours du baril était en baisse ces dernières semaines. Le pétrole russe étant sous sanctions des occidentaux du fait de la guerre en Ukraine.
Par contre, on apprend que Le Japon achète du pétrole russe au-dessus du plafond fixé par le G7 ! Ce matin après l’annonce de la réduction de production, le coût du baril est reparti à la hausse..
Les effets de cette annonce inattendue ne se sont pas fait attendre : Les prix du pétrole ont bondi ce lundi à près de 6% dans les premiers échanges en Asie. Le prix du baril de WTI américain grimpait de 5,74% à 80,01 dollars et celui du baril de Brent de la mer du Nord de 5,67% à 84,42 dollars ce lundi matin.
