L’ancien officier de l’armée et député à l’Assemblée nationale togolaise, l’honorable Gerry Taama est triste. Sans pouvoir se retenir, il a coulé les larmes de regret suite au décès à la fleur de l’âge de la jeune Julie, élève officier à l’ESSAL qui sera déposée ce vendredi 03 décembre dans sa dernière demeure après l’exposition du corps à la morgue du CHU Sylavanus Olympio de Tokoin suivie des cérémonies d’hommage de l’armée togolaise et la messe protestante dans une paroisse évangélique de Lomé.

Sauter d’un aéronef qui vole a 400m n’a rien de naturel. Il faut du cran pour cela. Ce sont des vols opérationnels, avec ouverture automatique du parachute à la sortie de l’aéronef. Le parachutiste dispose d’une voile secondaire, sur le ventre, qu’on peut ouvrir en cas d’urgence. Une enquête est en cours pour élucider les causes d’un tel drame qui est rarissime en parachutisme opérationnel. Donc je ne rentrerai dans aucun détail technique.

J’ai exprimé aux forces armées toute ma compassion et j’ai demandé que soit transmis à la famille de la jeune fille ma solidarité dans ce drame. Je profite de cette opportunité pour exprimer une fois encore, à la famille, aux proches et amis de cette courageuse jeune fille toutes mes condoléances. On ne devrait pas mourir à 19 ans. Non. De vieux pécheurs comme nous autres pouvons partir (mais pas encore hein !) mais à 19 ans, on a encore la belle vie devant soi. Qu’elle repose en paix.

La féminisation de l’armée est une bonne chose, même si elle reste encore faible (11%). Cette jeune dame a poursuivi son engagement jusqu’au sacrifice suprême. Je suis emu mais particulièrement admiratif de son courage. Elle devrait être décorée à titre posthume, et je proposerai que L’ESSAL(école du service de santé des armées de Lomé) porte désormais son nom. C’est une héroïne.
