Togo : 118000 doses du vaccin Johnson & Johnson reçu par la cheffe du gouvernement
La cheffe du gouvernement, Victoire Tomegah-Dogbé, en présence du ministre de la santé le Professeur Moustafa Mijiyawa, des représentants résidents de l’OMS et de l’UNICEF a reçu jeudi 5 août 118000 doses du vaccin Johnson & Johnson. Le Togo fait partie des premiers pays de l’Afrique à recevoir ce lot du sérum, produit en Afrique et destiné à renforcer la stratégie vaccinale.
Au total, 4.000.000 de doses seront livrées au pays de Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé. À travers un Tweeter, le Chef de l’Etat s’est réjouit de l’arrivée rapide de ces doses sur le territoire et invite les togolais à se faire vacciner massivement pour endiguer la maladie.
« Aujourd’hui, le Togo est très fier d’être l’un des tout premiers pays africains à recevoir les premières doses de vaccin Johnson & Johnson made in Africa. Mes remerciements à tous les partenaires qui soutiennent notre pays dans sa stratégie de lutte contre cette pandémie qui a un impact très négatif sur nos vies et nos économies. Depuis le début de cette terrible pandémie de Covid19, notre pays met tout en œuvre pour surmonter les défis sanitaires et économiques », a tweeté Faure Gnassingbé.
En tout, 296.000 doses du vaccin AstraZeneca ont été réceptionnées dans le cadre de l’initiative COVAX et 45.000 de l’Union africaine (UA).
Après avoir reçu ses premières doses du vaccin Astra Zeneca, toujours avec l’initiative COVAX, le Togo a bénéficié de 100.620 doses de Pfizer.
A ce jour, le Togo a acquis 716.620 doses de vaccin. Dans le même élan, la République Populaire de Chine a mis à la disposition de notre pays a 200.000 doses de Sinovac.
