Les experts de la CEDEAO se réunissent pour discuter des questions techniques liées à la mise en œuvre de l’ECOVISA
La Commission de la CEDEAO, à travers la Direction de la libre circulation des personnes et des migrations, organise une réunion d’experts sur l’ECOVISA à Accra, au Ghana, du 22 au 23 mai 2023.
La réunion technique de deux jours vise à : (1) présenter le rapport et les recommandations de la réunion des parties prenantes tenue le 22 mars 2023, pour des discussions et des contributions collectives ; (2) présenter les recommandations de la réunion d’experts précédente pour des discussions et finaliser le coût et les procédures de l’ECOVISA.
La réunion discutera également d’autres questions techniques liées à la mise en œuvre efficace de l’ECOVISA.
Les participants à cette réunion d’experts sont issus des ministères en charge de la gestion des visas et des représentants des services d’immigration des Etats membres.
Il convient de rappeler que les Chefs d’Etat et de Gouvernement de la CEDEAO ont mandaté la Commission de la CEDEAO pour développer les modalités d’une mise en œuvre harmonieuse de l’ECOVISA pour les migrants des pays tiers. Dans le cadre de ce mandat, plusieurs réunions ont été organisées avec les parties prenantes et des mesures importantes ont été prises pour atteindre cet objectif.
En outre, des progrès significatifs ont été enregistrés grâce aux efforts concertés des principaux acteurs dans les États membres. Des sessions de travail techniques ont également été organisées, ce qui a permis aux experts de formuler des recommandations clés concernant les processus et les procédures, le coût et la conception de la validation.
Cette réunion a donc pour but de finaliser les discussions techniques et de proposer des recommandations pour validation par les Chefs de l’immigration et adoption par les Ministres sectoriels lors des prochaines réunions.
