La Suisse importe d’important quantité d’or togolais alors que le pays n’a pas une seule mine d’or !
Le Togo impliqué dans un trafic illicite de l’or burkinabè. De l’or blanchi au Togo provient des mines d’or artisanal disséminé dans le nord et le sud-est du Burkina Faso, renseigne nos confrères de la RTS Suisse.
L’année dernière, 7 tonnes d’or provenant du Togo ont été officiellement écoulées vers le marché Suisse alors que le Togo n’est pas un pays d’or.
Des milliers de personnes et surtout des enfants travaillent dur dans une dizaine de mines d’or artisanal burkinabè.
« 30 à 50% des ouvriers sur place sont des enfants. Ce qu’il faut souligner, c’est que les conditions de travail de ces enfants sont difficiles », a annoncé l’ONG Déclaration de Berne avant d’ajouter que « ces enfants ne bénéficient pas des mesures de protection idoines qu’il faut ».
Selon les enquêteurs de l’ONG Suisse, l’or burkinabè passe clandestinement par le pays de Faure Gnassingbé afin de permettre aux trafiquants d’éviter les impôts et les taxes.
« Pour faire passer l’or du Burkina Faso vers le Togo, c’est très cher » a confié un commerçant clandestin.
Devenu togolais, l’or est envoyé par avion à Zürich pour enfin atterrir en Suisse. Selon les informations rapportées par RTS, aucun des acteurs tels que l’expéditeur, l’importateur et la grande société de raffinage de l’or n’a pas souhaité commenter cette affaire face à la caméra de RTS.
En rappel, le commerce de l’or du Togo vers la Suisse est presque banal car le Togo n’est pas un État exportateur de l’or. Le débat est enfin relancé sur la régulation de ce secteur.
