Coopération interparlementaire: Yawa Djigbodi Tsegan défend les prouesses du Togo en matière de la promotion de la gent féminine au Togo à Vienne
Le Togo a répondu présent au 13e Sommet mondial des Présidents de parlement. Le pays s’est fait représenter par Mme Yawa Djigbodi Tsegan présidente de l’hémicycle togolais. Elle est à Vienne en Autriche depuis ce lundi 06 septembre dans le compte des activités rattachées à la rencontre.
Le sommet est organisé par l’Union interparlementaire (UIP), en collaboration avec les Nations-Unies et le Parlement autrichien. Le thème choisi pour le compte de cette année est : « les femmes au cœur de l’action : de la lutte contre la pandémie à la sauvegarde des acquis durant une reprise tenant compte de la dimension de genre ».
Les présidents de parlement mettront l’accent sur les priorités qui nécessitent une action parlementaire internationale urgente, notamment la riposte mondiale à la pandémie et la reprise post-COVID-19, l’urgence climatique, la lutte contre la désinformation, la participation des jeunes à la vie politique et l’égalité des sexes.
En effet, ladite rencontre mondiale interparlementaire sera le cadre idyllique pour la cheffe du parlement de présenter les avancées de la république togolaise en matière de promotion de la femme et en termes de lutte contre les violences reposantes sur le genre.
Le Togo s’est résolu depuis un certain temps à la promotion de l’équité-genre notamment à travers l’adoption de textes de droits tels que le code pénal, le code foncier, les politiques nationales de promotion et d’autonomisation de la femme etc…
Le sommet mondial des chefs de parlement se tient tous les cinq ans. La première Conférence des présidents des parlements nationaux s’est tenue en août 2000, au Siège de l’ONU à New York. Depuis 1889, année de création de Union interparlementaire (UIP) l’organisation s’est donné pour objectif de renforcer la dimension parlementaire de la gouvernance mondiale.
L’ouverture de la Conférence sera marquée par les discours de Duarte Pacheco, Président de l’UIP, Wolfgang Sobotka, Président du Conseil national autrichien, Peter Raggl, Président du Conseil fédéral autrichien, Tone Wilhelmsen Trøen, Présidente du Storting norvégien (qui rendra compte des résultats du Sommet des présidentes de parlement) et Abdulla Shahid, Président de la 76e session de l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies.
