Le richissime Bernard Arnault, PDG de LVMH, vient de nommer sa fille PDG de Christian Dior.
La société mère de la maison de couture LVMH, un conglomérat mondial de produits de luxe qu’il dirige, a annoncé la nouvelle mercredi.
Delphine Arnault, 45 ans, quittera Louis Vuitton, où elle occupait le poste de vice-présidente exécutive, pour occuper son nouveau poste de PDG et présidente de Christian Dior Couture à partir du 1er février.
Elle remplacera Pietro Beccari, PDG de Dior depuis 2018 ; Beccari s’apprête à diriger Louis Vuitton. Bernard, 73 ans, reste actif en tant que PDG de LVMH, qu’il a cofondé en 1987.
Outre Dior et Louis Vuitton, le groupe de luxe compte plus de 70 marques prestigieuses, dont Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Moët & Chandon, Tiffany & Co. et Fenty Beauty.
Selon un article paru en 2019 dans le New York Times, Bernard a commencé son accumulation d’entreprises dans les années 1980, lorsqu’il a acheté une entreprise textile française en faillite appelée Boussac. Il a vendu la majeure partie de l’entreprise mais a conservé une pièce, Dior, et l’a agrandie.
Arnault, qui dirige la société mère de la marque de luxe, a qualifié la nomination de sa fille Delphine de « nouvelle étape dans un parcours professionnel dans la mode et la maroquinerie défini par l’excellence ».
« Sous sa direction, la désirabilité des produits Louis Vuitton a considérablement progressé, permettant à la marque d’établir régulièrement de nouveaux records de ventes », a-t-il poursuivi dans le communiqué. « Sa perspicacité et son expérience incomparable seront des atouts décisifs dans la poursuite du développement de Christian Dior.

Bernard a la réputation d’être extrêmement compétitif et voulait posséder la plus grande entreprise de luxe lorsqu’il s’est rendu compte qu’il ne pouvait pas être n ° 1 dans ses deux autres passions, le piano et le tennis, selon le rapport du Times.
Il a deux enfants de son premier mariage et trois de son second. Avec Delphine – qui partage un enfant avec son partenaire, le milliardaire français Xavier Niel – trois de ses autres enfants travaillent pour diverses marques appartenant à LVMH.
