Le soja bio togolais jouit d’une bonne notoriété en Europe. Selon le rapport 2020 de la Commission de l’Union européenne (UE) sur l’importation des produits bio publié le mois dernier, le Togo est le premier pays exportateur de soja biologique vers l’espace Schengen.
Ce classement vient s’ajouter aux records des deux années précédentes. En effet, en 2019, puis en 2018, le pays occupait le même rang et surclassait les grandes nations exportatrices de soja au monde, les Etats unis et la chine en l’occurrence.
En comparaison avec les chiffres de l’année précédente où le rapport mentionnait 42 300 tonnes de soja exportées vers l’Europe ; les tendances de 2020 sont plutôt haussières. Le rapport de l’union européenne indique que l’importante production de 2020 en dépit de la crise sanitaire a permis une exportation de 51 000 tonnes, soit une croissance de 20,4%.
Certes, c’est une performance, mais dans le précédent rapport où le Togo avait effectué une progression exceptionnelle de 102%.
Entre octobre 2019 et juillet 2020, la filière soja a généré au Togo plus de 50 milliards fcfa. Cette filière attire de plus en plus d’investisseurs et la réputation du pays sur la qualité des produits n’est que grandissante.
