De formation Maurice Dahuku Péré était un enseignant et après devenu député. Rigoureux et très dévoué, Maurice Dahuku Péré cadre influent du parti défunt RPT, a servi le peuple togolais sous le règne de feu Eyadema Gnassingbé. De 1994 à 1999, Maurice Dahuku Péré fut le président de l’Assemblée nationale. Dahuku Péré vient de rejoindre la maison du père céleste après avoir été cloué au lit suite à un grave accident de circulation qui a eu des chocs sur ses facultés cognitives. Après cet incident, en septembre 2014, l’homme politique est remplacé à l’Assemblée nationale par Kokou Alonou.
L’histoire retiendra que Maurice Dahuku Péré est viré de l’ancien RPT devenu Unir aujourd’hui, à cause de l’idée de reforme avancé. Il fut l’un des rénovateurs au sein du système RPT. Après avoir échoué à son ambition de rénovation au sein de RPT, il a quitté son parti avec Agbéyomé Kodjo pour créer un autre parti dénommée « Alliance Démocratique pour la Patrie ». L’illustre disparu avait voulu faire des réformes dans son parti politique Rpt mais ses collègues n’étant pas d’accord, il est devenu opposant du régime en place.
