Togo– « Ferdinand Ayité ne pouvait pas se jeter dans la gueule du loup » (Me Raphaël Kpandé-Adzaré)
Dans un entretien accordé aux confrères de TogoInfos, Me Raphael Kpande-Adzare s’est prononcé sur les raisons qui auraient pu pousser le patron du bihebdomadaire togolais L’Alternative à « se mettre à l’abri », évitant de se présenter à la convocation du Service Central de Recherches et d’Investigations Criminelles de la gendarmerie nationale (SCRIC) du Togo.
La liste des exilés togolais continue de s’allonger avec l’enregistrement du journaliste d’investigation Ferdinand Ayité qui, selon les informations, ne serait plus sur le territoire. Cette information surprend beaucoup d’observateurs car ce professionnel des médias est connu pour sa témérité et sa ténacité. Il a d’ailleurs à plusieurs reprises été privé de sa liberté dans l’exercice de sa profession.
Questionné sur ce sujet, Me Raphaël Kpande-Adzare, ancien Président de la Ligue Togolaise des Droits de l’Homme (LTDH), estime qu’on ne peut dire que Ferdinand Ayité « a volontairement choisi de se mettre à l’abri », car « nul ne peut volontairement quitter son pays dans des circonstances pareilles », c’est-à-dire « les circonstances dans lesquelles Ferdinand Ayité a décidé de quitter le Togo ».
Pour l’avocat et défenseur des droits de l’Homme, le harcèlement et les tracasseries judiciaires subis par le journaliste et son organe ne sont pas de nature à le rassurer sur les tenants et les aboutissants de l’audience correctionnelle pour laquelle il était cité à comparaître le mercredi 08 mars dernier. En plus « demander à Ferdinand Ayité de se constituer prisonnier alors qu’il n’est pas dirigé contre lui un procès d’assise ou un procès criminel » en le convoquant au SCRIC un dimanche à 15 heures, est un élément qui « sort de l’ordinaire ».
Au regard de tous ces signes précurseurs, Me Raphaël Kpande-Adzare pense que probablement ce qui « attendait Ferdinand Ayité le mercredi 08 mars, c’était de le condamner et l’envoyer au fin fond d’une prison ».
« On ne peut donc se jeter dans la gueule du loup », conclut l’avocat au barreau du Togo.
Rappelons que Ferdinand Ayité avait été porté disparu depuis le 05 mars 2023 suite à la convocation du Service Centrale de Recherches et d’Investigations Criminelles de la gendarmerie nationale et le 08 mars, l’homme a posté un message sur sa page Facebook pour rassurer et remercier les uns et les autres « Bonjour à tous. Ceci est un signe de vie pour rassurer tous ceux qui s’inquiètent depuis dimanche. Je vais relativement bien malgré cette effroyable épreuve et je suis plus ou moins à l’abri du danger pour l’instant. Je reviendrai pour des détails plus tard.
