Un fait inhabituel et mélodramatique s’est produit au Nigéria. Un homme a décidé de construire sa propre tombe et de célébrer sa mort avant qu’il ne quitte la terre des vivants pour de bon. Dans une interview accordée à la BBC Pidgin, un Nigérian du nom de Clement Usoro, a donné une nouvelle perspective sur la vie et la mort après avoir construit sa tombe et célébrer ses funérailles avant son décès. En effet, l’homme de 73 ans a déclaré qu’il avait fait les préparatifs nécessaires pour sa mort il y a trois ans, lorsqu’il a fêté son 70e anniversaire.
Selon lui, il a également rédigé son testament. Cependant, il continue à le mettre à jour. « J’ai rédigé mon testament et je le mets continuellement à jour. J’ai construit ma tombe. C’est une tombe de près de 2,7 mètres de profondeur. J’ai également construit un monument autour d’elle », a déclaré M. Usoro. « Mon ami m’a accompagné chez le vendeur de cercueil. Il a décidé de l’acheter pour moi. En tant que chef, il y a des choses que vous devez faire avant de mourir. » Le chef Usoro a également révélé qu’il a déjà payé les frais pour les rites nécessaires à ses co-chefs. Il a déclaré qu’il ne souhaitait pas que sa famille organise une cérémonie après sa mort, ajoutant que cela serait une « perte d’argent et de temps ».
Il tient à noter que cet acte est assez fréquent chez les personnes plutôt aisées. Un autre homme du nom de Ginimbi Kandungure a posé ce même acte. Mais malheureusement pour lui, il est décédé une semaine après avoir acheté son cercueil. En effet, le riche homme d’affaires zimbabwéen a acheté son cercueil une semaine avant son décès. La triste nouvelle s’est répandue du Zimbabwe au reste du monde, comme une traînée de poudre. Décédé le dimanche 8 novembre des suites d’un accident de circulation, le riche homme d’affaires avait dans sa chambre selon First Magazine un cercueil de luxe.
Le drame a emporté trois autres personnes, après que la Rolls Royce de Ginimbi ait percuté une Honda, avant de finir sa course dans un arbre. La voiture du Zimbabwéen a fini calcinée. Ginimbi s’est fait connaître à l’âge de 26 ans en tant que fournisseur de gaz de pétrole liquéfié (GPL). C’est alors qu’il a commencé à organiser des fêtes d’anniversaire. Bien que modestes à l’époque, ils ont attiré l’attention à Harare. Il deviendra plus tard une star des médias sociaux, sa vie s’apparentant à une émission de téléréalité.
