Le Japon n’est jamais en reste lorsqu’il s’agit de proposer des expériences et concepts hors du commun à ses habitants. Et parmi l’un des plus insolites, on retrouve immanquablement la première Coupe du monde de collecte de déchets. Oui, vous avez bien lu !

Ceux qui ont eu la chance de s’y rendre le savent sûrement, le pays du soleil levant est l’un des plus propres au monde à tel point que même les plaques d’égout sont de véritables œuvres d’art.
Cet état d’esprit se poursuit d’ailleurs même en dehors des frontières comme nous avons pu le constater lors de la dernière Coupe du monde de Football où les supporters japonais nettoyaient les gradins avant de sortir des stades tandis que les joueurs en faisaient de même dans les vestiaires.
Alors pour faire perdurer cette image tout en rendant l’activité plus ludique qu’elle n’y paraît, le pays a créé en 2008, une compétition sportive nationale baptisée Spogomi, qui vient de la contraction des mots “sport” et “déchets” en japonais.
Très convoitée par la population locale, le Japon a alors décidé d’en faire un événement de plus grande envergure comme l’a récemment annoncé l’organisation Nippon Foundation. Et pour cause, le pays accueillera en novembre prochain à Tokyo et pour la première fois dans le monde, la première Coupe du monde de collecte de déchets.
L’objectif ? Des équipes de trois personnes originaires d’une vingtaine de pays du monde devront ramasser le plus de déchets possibles dans un délai imparti d’une heure et dans une zone définie. Ensuite, chaque équipe devra trier, recycler et répartir les déchets dans des sacs adaptés.
Pour l’occasion, l’association a même créé un animé d’une trentaine de minutes pour mettre en lumière le projet et attirer l’attention de tous (surtout quand on connaît l’engouement suscité par les mangas japonais).
Avec cette initiative, la fondation souhaite transformer la récolte de déchets et le tri en une compétition sportive internationale dans le but de sensibiliser les participants, et bien plus encore, à l’importance du tri sélectif.
