Gabriel Laurex Ajavon, homme d’affaires béninois, a été présenté au parquet au Togo après avoir été placé en garde à vue. Le Togo a rejeté la demande d’extradition émise par le Bénin. Gabriel Laurex Ajavon est impliqué dans une affaire d’escroquerie liée à la livraison de coton graine.
Le refus de l’extradition par la justice togolaise
La justice togolaise a rejeté la demande d’extradition émise par le Bénin à l’encontre de Gabriel Laurex Ajavon. L’homme d’affaires béninois, placé en garde à vue au Togo, a été présenté au procureur mardi 23 mai à 15h30 et a été mis en détention provisoire à la prison civile de Lomé pour escroquerie
C’est une requête de la police béninoise, lancée en janvier 2023, qui a permis son interpellation au Togo, selon les informations. Il faut préciser que la requête d’Interpol Bénin fait suite à plusieurs convocations que Laurex Adjavon n’a pas honorées.
Toutefois, suite à un long débat, la défense a obtenu la décision de ne pas remettre Laurex Gabriel Adjavon à la police béninoise.
L’affaire de livraison de coton graine
Gabriel Laurex Ajavon est impliqué dans une affaire de livraison de coton graine. Devant le procureur, mardi, les faits ont été lus aux protagonistes. Gabriel Laurex Ajavon aurait reçu de l’argent d’un homme d’affaires burkinabè pour une commande de 5250 tonnes de coton graines commandées et non livrées. Cette affaire a conduit à son placement en garde à vue et à sa présentation au parquet
Gabriel Laurex Ajavon est le frère de l’homme d’affaires et opposant béninois Sébastien Ajavon. L’affaire continue de susciter l’attention et les avocats de Gabriel Laurex Ajavon continuent de défendre leurs arguments devant la justice togolaise.
La négociation de M. Ajavon
Arrêté par l’Interpol à Lomé puis gardé à vue dans les locaux de la police, l’homme d’affaires Gabriel Laurex Ajavon pour recouvrer sa liberté a proposer sa maison et autres biens matériels pour recouvrer sa liberté. Mais la partie adverse n’a pas accepté cette proposition. Car il s’agit d’un montant de Cinq Cents Cinquante Deux millions de francs CFA. Le plaignant, M. Ouédraogo estime que les biens proposés ne sont pas à la hauteur pour couvrir les dégâts y compris les dommages et intérêts.
L’escroquerie et le mensonge de Laurex
Le mis en cause prétend qu’il s’agit d’une affaire commerciale. Ce qui n’est du tout pas le cas. Car M. Gabriel Laurex Ajavon a fait croire à M. Ouédraogo et Mme Naon qu’il est capable de leur fournir des graines de coton. C’est pour cette raison qu’ils lui ont viré les fonds.
Mais depuis mars 2022 jusqu’au jour de son arrestation le 16 mai dernier à Lomé dans le quartier commercial appelé communément Dékon, il n’avait pas livré un seul gramme de produit. Et toutes tentatives de l’acheteur pour récupérer son argent ont été vaines. M. Laurex Ajavon narguait même la victime en disant que « le chien aboie, la caravane passe ». Il s’était réfugié au Togo. Entre temps la victime a pris l’initiative de porter une plainte à Ouagadougou. C’est ainsi qu’un mandat d’arrêt a été lancé à son encontre.
Par ailleurs la radio locale béninoise, Bip radio rapporte, de source togolaise, que Laurex Gabriel Adjavon serait aussi un citoyen togolais. En tout cas pour l’heure Gabriel Laurex Ajavon est déféré à la prison civile de Lomé en attendant son procès.
