La presse togolaise, qu’elle soit une radio, une télévision ou une presse écrite ou encore en ligne, doit se comporter comme un relayeur d’information vraie, un éclaireur et éveilleur de conscience de la société.
Mais depuis un certain temps, certains journaux privés contribuent à la désinformation des citoyens et sont devenus des organes de propagandes pour des partis politiques. Ces patrons de presse ou journalistes sont « sympathiquement » appelés au 228 des « Journaleux ».
Les togolais sont victimes des manœuvres irresponsables de ces presses privées qui pensent faire éloge au parti au pouvoir ou par peur d’être fermée par la HAAC.
Des journalistes qui sont dans ce noble métier considéré depuis quelques forts moments comme le 4ème pouvoir sont devenus des activistes déclarés qui savent bien manier fausses informations, mensonges, diffamations, duplicité etc. et tout ceci, soit d’escroquer la victime en lui soutirant de l’argent en dépit de la conscience professionnelle, du respect de la déontologie et de l’éthique en matière de presse et de communication ou soit garder un supposé lien d’amitié et d’empathie avec le pouvoir en place.
Certains journalistes de ces organes privées affirment dans un silence assourdissant que c’est un moyen pour « se protéger de la faim et ainsi conserver leur boulot »
Depuis les années 90 cette presse se veut toujours plus libre pour une société démocratique et inclusive. Mais l »état actuel de la liberté de la presse aujourd’hui est plus inquiétant et décourageant au pays des Gnassingbé.
L’écriture dite « journalistique » se veut à la fois attractive et rigoureuse. Elle se doit d’être efficace et communicante. Elle doit donc tenir compte du contexte de lecture. Une presse libre et un système judiciaire indépendant et efficace ont la capacité de renforcer mutuellement une démocratie. La liberté de presse ne permet-il pas à améliorer le fonctionnement de l’exécutif représentant les citoyens en aidant ceux-ci à communiquer avec lui. Certes, la liberté de presse rapproche le gouvernement du peuple en aidant les politiques (surtout le pouvoir) à mieux comprendre comment les populations perçoivent leur façon d’agir.
Qu’est devenue la presse au Togo malgré les multiples efforts de la Haute Autorité de l’Audiovisuel et de la Communication (HAAC) et les associations et organisations de presse, le ministère de tutelle peine à redonner valeur aux hommes et femmes de médias.?
Il a de quoi s’inquiéter et lancer un cri d’alarme pour inviter ces journaleux à prendre conscience. Le citoyen togolais est donc prévenu et il doit prendre sa responsabilité vis à vis de ces médias en les ignorants simplement et faire une sélection des presses dont les informations sont vraies vérifiées et impartiale
