Un mouvement social a été lancé au Cameroun ce 13 février 2023 par une quinzaine de syndicats rassemblés au sein du Cameroon Workers Forum. Une grève pour protester contre l’augmentation unilatérale du Smig à 41 000 francs CFA décrétée par les autorités camerounaises mais peu suivie à Yaoundé, la capitale.
Le mouvement de grève initié par une quinzaine de syndicats réunis au sein du Cawof, Cameroon Workers Forum, n’a été que très peu suivi dans la capitale camerounaise. Les grévistes contestent l’augmentation unilatérale du salaire minimum interprofessionnel garanti (Smig) à 41 000 francs CFA, un montant jugé insuffisant par les syndicats.
Comme plusieurs fonctionnaire, Christelle, s’est rendue à son lieu de service ce lundi 13 février, où tout s’est déroulé normalement. « Il y a aucun mouvement de grève, affirme-t-elle. Les gens travaillent normalement. Un problème d’information qui sera résolu dans les prochains jours grâce des campagnes de sensibilisation, selon les syndicats. Des syndicats qui ont initié un mois de grève pour les travailleurs ses secteurs public et privé.
