C’est ainsi que le Togo se joint à la chaîne de solidarité internationale qui se forme autour de la Turquie en lui apportant une aide financière d’1 milliard FCFA.
L’enveloppe accordée à la Turquie estimée à 1,5 millions de dollars, est destinée à panser les plaies de ce pays, qui a enregistré plusieurs milliers de morts selon la chancellerie turque, qui l’a annoncé hier sur twitter.
« L’Etat togolais a fait don de 1,5 million de dollars pour panser les plaies causées par les tremblements de terre massifs survenus dans notre pays. Nous tenons à remercier l’Etat togolais pour la solidarité et l’amitié dont il a fait preuve », a-t-elle écrit.
Un élan de solidarité qui traduit la réussite d’une diplomatie turque très active sur le continent.
Nombres d’Etats africains, des ONG, associations ou simples citoyens ont exprimé leur compassion et apporté leur aide à la Turquie, endeuillée comme son voisin syrien par un puissant séisme, qui a fait plus de 52 000 morts.
Il sied de rappeler que dans le cadre du renforcement de leurs relations de coopération, et pour la première fois, le président turc Recep Tayyip Erdogan avait effectué une visite officielle à Lomé en octobre 2021.
