Le Togo vient de réceptionner son premier lot de vaccin dimanche 07 mars 2021. Un lot constitué de 156.000 doses de vaccin Astra Zeneca dans la riposte face à la pandémie de COVID-19 et ceci, dans le cadre de l’initiative COVAX.

RÉCEPTION D’UN PREMIER LOT DE 156.000 DOSES DE VACCIN ANTI COVID-19 DANS LE CADRE DE L’INITIATIVE COVAX
Le Togo vient de réceptionner 156.000 doses de vaccin Astra Zeneca contre la COVID-19 , dans le cadre de l’initiative COVAX.
L’arrivée de ce premier lot de vaccins constitue un grand pas dans la riposte face à la pandémie de COVID-19, eu égard à la situation de plus en plus préoccupante de l’évolution de la pandémie depuis janvier 2021.
Le plan de déploiement du vaccin élaboré par le Togo a été approuvé par l’initiative COVAX.
Le Gouvernement togolais salue à sa juste valeur d’arrivée de ce premier lot de vaccins de l’Initiative COVAX qui constitue une étape importante dans la lutte menée contre la Covid-19 au Togo sous la haute impulsion du Chef de l’Etat.
En effet, la vaccination vient s’adosser à l’arsenal des mesures prises depuis plus d’un an, sous le leadership du chef de l’État, pour faire face à cette pandémie et à ses conséquences, tant dans la prévention que dans le traitement, qu’elles soient juridiques, institutionnelles, sanitaires, sociales et économiques.
Ce premier lot de vaccins sera administré à l’ensemble du personnel de santé et à une partie de la population de 50 ans et plus résidant dans le Grand Lomé. Le gouvernement invite par conséquent ces deux cibles à se rendre à partir du 10 mars sur les sites .dont la liste sera communiquée ultérieurement, pour se faire vacciner.
Le gouvernement remercie sincèrement tous les donateurs, tous les partenaires et tous ceux qui ont marqué de diverses manières à la conception et à la mise en œuvre de cette initiative, et reste convaincu que cette étape n’est que la première d’une longue série devant permettre d’endiguer la pandémie au Togo.
