Pendant plus de 50 ans, au Togo où le règne Gnassingbé est toujours d’actualité, les infrastructures sanitaires n’existent presque pas, les laboratoires qui sont sous équipés, manquent de financement, pire les dirigeants n’ont aucune politique sanitaire. Où est alors la priorité de l’État dans la recherche scientifique dans le domaine sanitaire et ainsi garantir une bonne santé à sa population ?
La recherche scientifique est coûteuse certe mais elle est essentielle pour trouver des solutions pratiques, durables et rapides face aux problèmes de développement sur le plan sanitaire et sur la production scientifique. Au moment où le chef de l’État, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé fait la promotion de la protection de la femme enceinte, à peine l’on peut trouver au minimum 5 scanner sur le territoire national. La mentalité de dons, d’être constamment assisté, de dépendre de l’extérieur et etc chez l’Africain, la déclinaison éhontée de notre incapacité à nous gérer par nous même malgré nos nombreuses richesses, ne peut nous faire avancer vers un développement. Malheureusement beaucoup d’États Africain y compris le Togo n’attendent que les dons des pays occidentaux. Et si le Togo avait financé une bonne école scientifique, ne refuserait-il pas ces doses de vaccins tout comme la malgache ?
Aujourd’hui avec le Coronavirus, nos Etats s’accrocher à « Dame l’OMS » comme ils le font déjà sur le plan socioéconomique avec le FMI, la banque mondiale et le PNUD. Le fossé est béant. Espérons que cette crise réveille nos dirigeants.
Le président de la République togolaise, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé a rencontré les responsables du conseil scientifique vendredi 19 mars 2021 pour réfléchir sur la flambée des cas constatés ces derniers temps. Espérons que la COVID-19 marque un nouveau départ dans le repositionnement des recherches scientifiques dans l’agenda politique du chef de l’État.
Peut-on penser que le conseil scientifique togolais a trouvé un bon moyen pour bien s’oxygéner au vu de sa facilité à rencontrer le chef de l’État dans un pays où la recherche scientifique n’a jamais été une préoccupation majeure?
