Un fait inhabituel s’est produit en Ouganda. Certains hommes inhumains posent parfois des actes irréfléchis. Un homme a coupé la main d’une gamine de 16 ans pour avoir refusé ses avances. L’adolescente qui a résisté à la tentative de viole d’un homme, se retrouve aujourd’hui avec des mains coupées et demande à la justice de punir sévèrement l’auteur.
L’histoire se passe dans le district de Bududa en Ouganda. La petite fille de 16 ans raconte comment elle a été malmenée et attaquée par un homme de 25 ans armé d’une machette qui lui a coupé la main après avoir tenu tête à sa tentative de viole.
Evelyn Namasopo a déclaré mercredi 7 avril dernier au magistrat en chef de Mbale, M. James Mawanda, lors d’une session au tribunal de première instance de Bubulo dans le district de Manafwa, que le suspect Derrick Kuloba, 25 ans, l’avait attaquée près d’une forêt en rentrant chez elle pour chercher de la litière et de la nourriture pour sa mère malade.
« Il (Kuloba) a commencé à m’ordonner de me déshabiller et quand j’ai refusé, il a sorti une machette et a commencé à me couper. Il voulait me couper la tête mais je l’ai bloqué avec ma main droite », a-t-elle déclaré au tribunal lors de l’audition dans lequel Kuloba est accusé de tentative de meurtre.
Evelyn a expliqué qu’elle avait crié à l’aide dans l’espoir d’obtenir du secours, mais en vain, ajoutant qu’elle souffrait toujours beaucoup.
La victime a accusé la police et le tribunal de Mbale d’avoir tenté de faire étouffer l’affaire parce que Kuloba avait été libéré dans des circonstances louches quelques jours après son arrestation.
«J’ai besoin de justice de cette cour parce que je suis maintenant handicapée. Je ne suis pas capable de faire des activités quotidiennes comme j’en avais l’habitude. Je ne peux même pas écrire », a-t-elle expliqué.
L’accusation a déclaré au tribunal que Kuloba, un résident du village de Nabooti, sous-comté de Nakatsi dans le district de Bududa, le 4 juillet 2020 armé d’une machette, avait attaqué la victime avant de lui couper la main droite lors d’un viol avorté.
La jeune fille a également subi plusieurs blessures sur d’autres parties du corps. L’accusation a présenté trois témoins; la victime, son cousin et son oncle.
Dans son témoignage, la jeune fille a en outre demandé au tribunal de donner à Kuloba une punition sévère.
L’affaire a été ajournée au 8 avril 2021, date à laquelle l’accusation devrait présenter davantage de témoins au tribunal.
Mme Khainza, mère de la victime a demandé au suspect de payer les factures médicales de sa fille, en attendant le jugement, affirmant que sa famille ne pouvait plus se permettre ses médicaments.
