Le président nigérian Bola Tinubu s’est engagé hier dimanche à superviser un nettoyage en profondeur de la banque centrale du pays pour débarrasser l’institution de la corruption.
Lors d’une émission nationale commémorant le 63e anniversaire de l’indépendance du Nigeria, M. Tinubu a fait la lumière sur certaines questions nationales critiques et sensibles, notamment l’instauration d’une politique monétaire qui profitera à tous les Nigérians.
Il a décrit la Banque centrale du Nigeria (CBN), sous la direction de l’ancien gouverneur Godwin Emefiele, comme un « repaire de malversations », affirmant que le « nettoyage était en cours » dans le but de mettre un terme à la corruption à grande échelle au sein de l’institution financière.
