L’état togolais a souscrit lundi 21 août 2023 à 600 mille actions du capital social de la compagnie aérienne panafricaine Asky. Le Togo prend ainsi près de 15% du capital d’Asky.
L’Etat est rentré lundi au capital de la compagnie aérienne Asky.
Gervais Koffi Djondo, président du conseil d’administration de la compagnie aérienne et le ministre togolais de l’économie et des finances Sani Yaya, ont procédé à la signature des documents qui officialisent la participation de l’état togolais dans le capital d’Asky avec un apport de 6 milliards de F Cfa soit 14,39%.
« Vous pouvez compter sur Asky, car nous sommes sur la bonne voie » , a déclaré le président du conseil d’administration, Gervais Djondo lors d’une brève allocution, tout en saluant le rôle joué par leur conseil d’avocat, représenté par Sana Agbayissah.
« La participation de l’État du Togo au capital de la compagnie dénote du soutien des autorités à la compagnie et induit un accroissement du capital et de ses destinations », a laissé entendre le ministre togolais des transports, Atcha-Dédji Affoh.
Sani Yaya a déclaré après la signature des documents que « pour le gouvernement, la prise de participation dans le capital d’ASKY est plus qu’un simple investissement financier. Il s’agit d’un investissement stratégique au regard de sa politique d’intégration de la sous-région et d’ouverture de notre pays au reste du monde » avant d’ajouter « Je voudrais vous dire toute la satisfaction du président Faure Gnassingbé et celle du gouvernement tout entier concernant l’aboutissement des négociations entre les parties (…) »
Il sied de rappeler que la compagnie aérienne panafricaine, Asky d’un capital de 60 milliards de F CFA est détenue à 40 % par Ethiopian Airlines. La banque ouest-africaine de développement (BOAD), Ecobank et la banque d’investissement et de développement de la Cédéao (BIDC) chacune de l’ordre de 18% aux côtés d’investisseurs privés majoritairement africains.
Asky, un projet du togolais Gervais Koffi Djondo propose un réseau de 23 destinations dans 11 pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest et d’Afrique centrale.
Asky dessert l’Afrique de l’Ouest et l’Afrique centrale depuis l’aéroport de Lomé et exploite actuellement une flotte de treize (13 appareils : neuf (09) Boeing 737- 800, quatre (04) Boeing 737-700, et desservant vingt-sept (26) villes dans 24 pays d’Afrique.
Les principales destinations de la compagnie sont Abidjan, Accra, Conakry, Dakar,m Douala, Freetown, Lagos, Lomé, Monrovia, Ouagadougou et Yaoundé, mais également Johannesburg.
