À l’issue de ce sommet, la CEDEAO décide : de suspendre le Burkina Faso des instances de l’Organisation sous régionale, d’envoyer une mission civile et militaire à Ouagadougou, elle fera une nouvelle réunion le 03 février 2022 à Accra.
Comme le Mali et la Guinée avant, le Burkina Faso est désormais sous le coup des sanctions de la Communauté économique des États de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (CEDEAO).
