Guerre russo-ukrainienne | Mission impossible pour les dirigeants africains en médiation de paix à Kiev et Moscou ?
Une délégation de dirigeants africains, dont le président sud-africain Cyril Ramaphosa, était vendredi en Ukraine pour une mission de médiation entre ce pays et la Russie, accueillie dans la matinée par une attaque de missiles russes qui a visé la région de Kiev. La mission africaine a commencé son voyage par une visite à Boutcha, banlieue de Kiev où l’armée russe est accusée d’avoir massacré des civils. Le groupe ira ensuite en Russie pour une rencontre avec Vladimir Poutine à Saint-Pétersbourg. Sept pays sont représentés et quatre chefs d’État du continent font partie de cette « mission de paix »

Alors que des missiles russes continuent à s’abattre sur la ville, les responsables africains ont rencontré vendredi vendredi 16 juin 2023, le président Volodymyr Zelensky. Le président sud-africain Cyril Ramaphosa lors d’une conférence de presse conjointe avec le président ukrainien Volodymyr Zelensky a appelé à une désescalade des deux côtés.
Volodymyr Zelenskya exclu toute négociation avec la Russie à l’issue de sa rencontre avec des dirigeants africains venus tenter une médiation entre Kiev et Moscou. La médiation africaine semble être à cette étape de Kiev, une mission impossible.
« Aujourd’hui j’ai clairement dit pendant notre rencontre (avec la délégation africaine) que «Permettre une négociation avec la Russie maintenant, quand l’occupant est sur notre terre, signifie geler la guerre, geler la douleur et la souffrance», a tranché le président ukrainien lors d’une conférence de presse conjointe avec les dirigeants africains. «Il est clair que la Russie essaie à nouveau d’utiliser sa vieille tactique de tromperie. Mais la Russie ne réussira plus à tromper le monde», a ajouté Volodymyr Zelensky. «Nous n’allons pas lui donner une seconde chance». «Il doit y avoir une désescalade des deux côtés» a pour sa part affirmé Cyril Ramaphosa
Après Kiev, M. Ramaphosa, les présidents sénégalais Macky Sall et zambien Hakainde Hichilema, ainsi que le président comorien Azali Assoumani, à la tête de l’Union africaine depuis février, et des représentants congolais, ougandais et égyptien doivent rencontrer ce 17 juin, Vladimir Poutine à Saint-Pétersbourg, dans le nord-ouest de la Russie.
