[Épidémie] La rougeole « s’invite dans la danse » au Togo !

La menace d’une flambée épidémique se fait plus pressante dans certaines régions du pays et notamment dans plusieurs districts sanitaires. En cette période pandémique où on cherche à bouter hors de nos frontières la COVID-19, des cas de rougeole sont détectés dans plusieurs centre de santé du Togo

En effet, « des cas de rougeole ont été confirmés dans plusieurs districts sanitaires dans le pays au cours du mois de janvier”, a annoncé ce lundi le ministère de la santé. Sont ainsi concernés, les districts d’Agoè, Avé, Bassar, Golfe et Zio.

Si des investigations sont d’ores et déjà en cours pour rechercher et prendre en charge efficacement d’éventuels cas, d’autres dispositions ont été prises, à savoir, le renforcement de la veille épidémiologique et l’alerte précoce, ou la sensibilisation des populations sur la vaccination anti-rougeoleuse de routine et les conduites à tenir.

“La rougeole est une maladie évitable par la vaccination. Le vaccin contre la rougeole est sans danger, efficace et reste à ce jour le principal moyen de prévention”, précise le ministère. Les populations sont donc invitées à une vigilance accrue et à l’adoption des comportements barrières basiques (laver régulièrement les mains à l’eau et au savon ou avec une solution hydroalcoolique, nettoyer et désinfecter les surfaces, éviter de se toucher les yeux, le nez, la bouche, entre autres).

La rougeole est une maladie infectieuse virale très contagieuse affectant majoritairement les enfants. Elle se transmet par inhalation des gouttelettes de sécrétion (nasales ou pharyngées) émises par une personne infectée. Elle se manifeste très souvent par une forte fièvre, un nez qui coule, des yeux rouges et une éruption cutanée.
