La Fédération Togolaise de Boxe, FETO BOXE a un agenda très chargé en cette année 2023 à l’occasion des compétitions africaines de boxe qui vont se tenir dans 3 pays différents. Au rang des athlètes qui défendront les couleurs du Togo figure le champion des poids lourds DOGBEVI FIOKLOU alias « Americain », un jeune boxeur dont le talent suscite autant d’admiration au sein des passionnés du noble art.
Auréolé de sa victoire par KO technique lors du championnat national de boxe organisé fin octobre 2022 par la FETO BOXE, le champion du Togo dans la catégorie poids lourd DOGBEVI FIOKLOU est sous les projecteurs.
Le seul espoir du Togo dans la catégorie poids lourd se prépare activement pour les échéances continentales prévues au cours de cette année 2023. En prélude à ces événements sportifs, Il n’ y a pas de jour où le jeune boxeur ne s’entraîne pour remplir une page de l’histoire du noble art dans les annales de la Fédération Africaine de Boxe.
« Américain », l’un des rares poids lourds de l’équipe nationale de boxe compte ramener des ceintures ou des médailles pour le Togo: » Je ne m’entraîne pas pour aller faire de la figuration comme le disent souvent les journalistes. Même si nous avons peu de moyens c’est ma carrière qui est en jeu. Je ferai un grand effort de gagner des médailles au nom du Togo. Notre pays le Togo a connu des grands boxeurs qui ont hissé notre drapeau à l’échelle continentale et mondiale. Nous jeunes boxeurs, avons le devoir de leur emboîter le pas pourquoi pas faire plus qu’eux? C’est le Togo qui gagne » A t-il déclaré.
FIOKLOU DOGBEVI se prépare pour le championnat d’Afrique qui se tiendra en juin 2023 à yaounde au Cameroun. En Septembre 2023, il représentera le Togo dans sa catégorie lors du championnat des jeunes qui sera organisé en Guinée Conakry. La fin de l’année c’est à dire décembre 2023, DOGBEVI FIOKLOU participera au tournoi des champions de boxe dont le lieu n’est pas encore déterminé. Il faut dire que l’épervier déborde trop d’énergie. C’est un amoureux des arts martiaux dont le parcours est marqué par le shotokan et le bodybuilding.
Aujourd’hui il devient le nouveau champion de boxe au Togo dans la catégorie poids lourds. Que nos prières l’accompagnent.
