Paris veut être « plus réactif » sur les réseaux sociaux pour soigner son image en Afrique
Le président Emmanuel Macron veut engager le combat contre les « propagandes anti-françaises » qui ont déferlé courant 2021.La France n’entend plus laisser le terrain numérique libre aux propagandistes.
Emmanuel Macron a exhorté, jeudi 1er septembre, les diplomates français à être « plus réactifs » sur les réseaux sociaux pour mieux riposter aux attaques que subit leur pays en direction des opinions publiques, notamment en Afrique. Pour lui, « le narratif russe, chinois et turc » a saturé l’année dernière l’espace médiatique de certains pays qu’il n’a pas nommés.
« Notre pays est souvent attaqué et il est attaqué dans les opinions publiques, par les réseaux sociaux et des manipulations », a observé le chef de l’Etat, dans un discours devant les ambassadeurs français réunis à l’Elysée. Il dénonce le fait qu’on fasse souvent croire à ces opinions « que la France est un pays qui fait de la néocolonisation et qui installe son armée sur leur sol ».
Face à cette situation, le chef de l’Etat indique que la riposte passe d’abord par une « vraie politique partenariale » avec les pays visés. Mais « je pense que, collectivement, nous devons être beaucoup plus réactifs, beaucoup plus mobilisés sur les réseaux sociaux », a-t-il insisté.
Le chef de l’Etat, qui a appelé à « assumer une stratégie d’influence et de rayonnement de la France », a exhorté à « mieux utiliser le réseau France Médias Monde, qui est absolument clé, qui doit être une force pour nous ». France Médias Monde regroupe notamment la chaîne d’information France 24 et la radio RFI, suivies dans plusieurs pays du Sahel tels que le Mali
Ce pays, dirigé par une junte militaire depuis plus de deux ans, est en froid diplomatique avec la France. Certains acteurs profitent de la situation pour faire passer leur propagande sur les plateformes numériques.
La réaction de la France ne vise pas à « faire de la propagande », a fait valoir M. Macron, mais de contrer les « propagandes anti-françaises » et de « combattre les narratifs mensongers, les informations fausses et défendre la réalité de notre action ». « Aujourd’hui, on subit trop, on ne fait pas assez », a-t-il estimé devant les ambassadeurs et ambassadrices français.
