La police nationale togolaise vient de voir officiellement son effectif augmenté. 925 nouvelles recrues ont prêté serment.
Sorties de deux promotions, celle de 2018 et de 2019, ces nouveaux agents ont été soumis aux exigences de la loi N° 2015-005 du 28 Juillet 2015 portant statut spécial de la Police Nationale qui, en son article 45 alinea 5, dispose qu’avant l’entrée en service, tout fonctionnaire de police prête, devant le Président du Tribunal compétent siégeant en audience publique, le serment initial.
« JE JURE D’ OBEIR A LA LOI ET A MES CHEFS EN TOUT CE QUI CONCERNE LE SERVICE AUQUEL JE SUIS APPELÉ ET, DANS L’EXERCICE DE MES FONCTIONS, DE NE FAIRE USAGE DE LA FORCE QUI M’EST CONFIÉE QUE POUR LE MAINTIEN DE L’ORDRE PUBLIC ET L’EXÉCUTION DES LOIS » , ceci est la formule du serment que chacun des 925 nouveaux agents a dû prononcé en cette matinée du 27 mai 2022 au Palais des congrès de Lomé, sous le regard admiratif de la hiérarchie policière avec à sa tête son Directeur général adjoint, le Commissaire Divisionnaire BALATE Mikidjièbe, représentant le Directeur général.
Présent à cette cérémonie, le 4ème Substitut du Procureur de la République près le tribunal de 1ère instance de Lomé, le juge GAMATHO Philippe, a prodigué d’utiles conseils aux jeunes Policiers.
Représentant le Président du Tribunal de 1ère instance de Lomé, le juge GNON GBATI, qui a reçu le serment de ces fonctionnaires de police, leur a rappelé les principes gouvernant leur fonction, et la nécessité de ne se conformer qu’aux textes, avant de les renvoyer à l’exercice de leur fonction.
Exprimant son satisfecit et ses attentes vis-à-vis de ses jeunes collaborateurs, le Directeur général adjoint de la Police nationale leur a rappelé les exigences déontologiques qui doivent les guider tout au long de leur carrière. Il a insisté sur la noblesse de la profession, gage d’un professionnalisme de tous les instants, et émis le vœu qu’au soir de leur carrière, la nation entière soit fière d’eux.
