Les acteurs de la chaîne de valeur karité se donnent rendez-vous dans la capitale togolaise. La conférence internationale sur le karité 2022 se tiendra du 06 au 08 juin 2022 sur le thème : « cultiver l’avenir, renforcer la résilience et la restauration ». Le lancement de cet événement qui aura lieu pour la première fois en terre togolaise a été donné ce lundi 16 mai 2022 à Lomé.
Plus de 500 parties prenantes de l’industrie du karité de plus de 35 pays sont attendues à cette rencontre de trois jours. « Pour l’industrie du karité, la résilience a toujours signifié faire face à des défis en termes de déclin des populations d’arbres qui affectent les approvisionnements. Avec la perturbation du commerce et des moyens de subsistance due à la pandémie mondiale, il n’a jamais été aussi important d’investir dans la résilience.
L’industrie a appris de dures leçons sur les perturbations et la persévérance et, grâce à de bonnes stratégies, elle doit être prête à prendre de nouvelles directions et à s’adapter au changement. Il est essentiel que nous reconnaissions le pouvoir et le potentiel de la collaboration, car nous avons une responsabilité envers nos collectrices de karité pour développer l’industrie » a déclaré Urbain Gbéou, Directeur régional de l’Alliance Globale de Karité(AGK) au cours d’une conférence de presse à Lomé. Organisée par l’Alliance Globale du Karité en collaboration avec l’Etat Togolais et les acteurs locaux du karité comme la Filière Karité du Togo (FIKATO) et le Conseil Interprofessionnel de la Filière Karité du Togo( CIFKAT), la conférence internationale du karité 2022 facilitera notamment les rencontres d’affaire entre les parties prenantes de l’industrie du karité et donnera aux PME l’occasion de présenter leurs produits et de démontrer les avantages du karité aux participants. « La Conférence Internationale sur le Karité représente à nos yeux l’occasion rêvée de magnifier et de célébrer ces milliers de femmes, qui au départ de la chaîne de valeur, s’investissent et bravent de nombreux défis pour la vitalité d’un secteur dont la contribution à l’économie nationale n’est pas à négliger.
En effet, le karité est une meilleure opportunité pour la femme en milieu rural de gagner le pari de sa propre autonomisation financière pour sortir de la pauvreté » a souligné Mme Elisabeth Essodolom Pali-Tchalla, présidente de la FIKATO et du CIFKAT. Reportée sine die en 2020 en raison de la crise sanitaire liée à la covid 19, la rencontre de Lomé inscrit à son agenda des panels de discussion autour des nouvelles tendances, de la demande et les opportunités dans le secteur karité, les implications et opportunités des politiques internationales et régionales, les politiques nationales en Afrique de l’Ouest et les entraves au commerce l’UE, aux États-Unis et en Asie.
