La chanteuse congolaise Tshala Muana (Elisabeth Tshala Muana Muidikayi de son vrai nom) est décédée ce samedi 10 décembre 2022 à Kinshasa, à l’âge de 64 ans.
L’annonce a été faite par Jean Marie Kasamba, président de l’Union Nationale de la Presse Congolaise UNPC direction provinciale de Kinshasa.
« J’ai la douleur immense de vous annoncer la disparition de ma sœur, ma star Tshala Muana ce matin à Kinshasa ! Le Congo et l espace Kasaï ont perdu sa reine ! Que Dieu accueille son âme » , a-t-il annoncé.
Décédée des suites d’une courte maladie
Selon les médias congolais,
la reine de mutwashi a passé l’arme à gauche des suites d’une maladie. Décès survenu pendant que la diva était à quelques jours de son retour sur scène avec un nouvel album.
« Souffrant depuis quelque temps, Tshala Muana avait recouvré sa santé après son hospitalisation au Centre Médical de Kinshasa ( CMK ), et elle avait promis un nouvel album aux mélomanes. Internée d’abord à la polyclinique Caroline au quartier royal dans la commune de la Gombe pour les soins, ensuite au Centre Hospitalier Initiative Plus CHIP, toujours dans la commune de la Gombe, Elisabeth Muidikayi est décédée ce matin »
Originaire du Kasaï, la chanteuse Tshala Muana avait connue la gloire avec des chansons à succès. Affectueusement appelée « la Reine du Mutwashi, la Mamu nationale » parce qu’elle a hissé plus haut le Mutwashi, la danse du folklore luba.
Tshala Muana était à la fois chanteuse, danseuse, productrice, actrice et patronne de l’orchestre « la dynastie Mutwashi ».
Elle avait également une casquette politique. De 2000 à 2002, elle a siégé comme députée au sein de l’Assemblée constituante et législative du Parlement de transition. Avant de devenir plus tard, présidente de la Ligue des femmes du parti politique PPRD.
Tshala Muana laisse derrière elle un héritage musical très riche constitué des chansons de bonne facture comme Malu, Mutwashi, Tshanza, lekela Muadi et tant d’autres.
