ECOWAS: the extraordinary summit on Burkina canceled!

The Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) scheduled to be held on October 13 and 14, 2022 in Dakar, Senegal has been cancelled. This postponement would be due to the assurance given by Captain Ibrahim Traoré on the respect of the calendar of the sub-regional organization.

During his visit on Tuesday, October 4 to Ouagadougou with an ECOWAS mission, Mahamadou Issoufou, ECOWAS mediator for Burkina Faso, said he was satisfied with the exchanges with Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Head of State and President of the Movement Patriotic for Backup and Restore (MPSR).

« We are leaving confident and I can assure you that ECOWAS will continue to support the people of Burkina Faso in this very difficult ordeal they are going through, » he said.
