Togo/Yawa tsegan et chao Weidong, l’ambassadeur de Chine au Togo, s’arc-boutent contre la pauvreté
La présidente de l’assemblée nationale togolaise Yawa Djigbodi TSEGAN a reçu ce 24 mars 2021, l’ambassadeur de la république populaire de Chine.
Les deux personnalités ont échangé autour d’une amélioration des relations bilatérales existantes entre les deux pays.
Mais le point central des discussions fut la lutte contre la pauvreté, et avec comme acteurs de front les parlements togolais et chinois. Chao weidong a annoncé que dans le cadre du partenariat entre les deux assemblées, la chine se propose d’organiser une séance de travail par visioconférence avec son homologue.
Donc la rencontre de l’ambassadeur avec la cheffe du législatif togolais, est un travail préparatif et dans ce sens, son excellence Weidong exprime son sentiment de joie en ces termes : « je suis content que la présidente de l’Assemblée nationale ait donné son agrément. Nous voulons profiter de cette rencontre pour renforcer davantage les relations entre les deux parlements, et partant, entre la chine et le Togo, en vue de lutter contre la pauvreté dans les deux états ».
La pauvreté au Togo est classé au 167e rang mondial sur 189 dans le rapport 2019 du PNUD sur le développement humain. La chine est un géant en matière de lutte contre la pauvreté. Son président Xi Jinping avait lancé officiellement en 2014 « la victoire complète dans la lutte contre la pauvreté ». En 2019, la chine ne comptait plus que 5,5 millions de pauvres, contre près de 100 millions en 2012.
La coopération avec le Togo promet des jours meilleurs.
