Aujourd’hui, ce sont celles du développeur Mobile apps Group qui posent problème. Ces quatre applications sont malheureusement toujours présentes sur le Google Play d’Android à l’heure où nous écrivons ces lignes.
Quatre applications malveillantes à désinstaller immédiatement
Une fois installées, les applications affichent des pages qui dirigent les utilisateurs vers des sites qui cherchent à voler leurs informations sensibles ou des publicités qui génèrent des revenus pour le développeur grâce au « paiement par clic ». Les pages qui s’affichent n’hésitent pas à proposer de faux outils de mises à jour, incitant l’utilisateur à installer manuellement les fichiers malveillants.
C’est la troisième fois que le développeur se fait épingler pour la diffusion de logiciels publicitaires sur le Google Play. Mais après avoir proposé des versions « propres » de ses logiciels, Mobile Apps Group a été de nouveau autorisé à publier des applications. Voici la liste des quatre applications malveillantes :
.Bluetooth Auto Connect
.Driver: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi,
USB
.Mobile transfer: smart switch
.Bluetooth App Sender.
Avec plus d’un million de téléchargements au total, les quatre applications ont déjà fait beaucoup de dégâts chez les utilisateurs d’appareils Android. Sur l’application « Bluetooth Auto Connect », certains utilisateurs sonnent l’alerte, comme sur ce commentaire datant du 25 janvier 2021 :
« Ne surtout pas télécharger !!! Installe un adware en plus de l’application, celui-ci affiche des pubs au déverrouillage de votre téléphone, et ceci même quand l’application est fermée ! C’est une honte pour une application qui propose un service payant, à signaler auprès du Play Store et attention aux autres applis du même type, elles sont surement publiées par la même personne. »
Le développeur ne manque pas d’ironie en répondant à l’utilisateur pour s’excuser des « quelques publicités » présentes dans l’application, tout en l’encourageant à passer à la version payante pour ne plus en avoir.

Les applications sont d’autant plus malicieuses qu’elles n’affichent pas tout de suite des publicités. En effet, elles attendent 72 heures avant de lancer la première annonce ou d’ouvrir un lien d’hameçonnage dans le navigateur web. Le rythme s’accélère ensuite avec un onglet ouvert toutes les deux heures environ.
Les applications sont particulièrement agressives dans la mesure où les onglets de navigateurs s’ouvrent même lorsque le téléphone est verrouillé. De quoi retrouver son téléphone avec énormément de publicités et de sites d’hameçonnage en l’allumant le matin.
Pour vous protéger de ces applications malveillantes ou les détecter si elles sont déjà installées sur vos appareils, voici quelques conseils.
Le premier, qui n’est malheureusement pas suffisant, est de ne pas installer d’applications en dehors du Play Store. Prenez également le temps de lire les commentaires des utilisateurs (s’il y en a) avant de télécharger quoi que ce soit. Surveillez aussi le comportement de votre batterie. Si cette dernière se décharge plus rapidement, une application est peut-être en train de tourner en arrière-plan. Vous pouvez par ailleurs utiliser un bon antivirus pour Android pour éviter ce genre de mauvaises surprises.
