En conférence de presse mercredi, le président du MRC qui se réclame catholique invite les deux doyens de l’église mère à s’asseoir pour discuter entre eux afin de ne pas perdre les fidèles à travers leur différends.
Abass Kaboua, l’honorable député à l’Assemblée nationale envoie un message à l’archevêque émérite de Lomé, Mgr Kpodzro et l’actuel métropolitain, Mgr Nicodème Barrigah suite au différend politique du 22 février 2020. À en croire au président du MRC, l’église catholique est unique et ceux qui la conduisent doivent être uni. C’est ce qui l’a poussé en tant que catholique à leur adresser ce message.
« Nous ne sommes pas ici pour défendre quelqu’un. Je voudrais envoyer un seul message à Mgr Nicodème Barrigah (…). Je leur demande de tout faire pour mettre fin à leur problèmes. Nous les fidèles, s’ils n’arrivent pas à se comprendre nous allons prendre notre responsabilité. C’est ce qui c’était passé avant et certains ont quitté l’église. Nous ne voulons plus la même chose, c’est pourquoi, je leur demande de régler cela très vite » a indiqué le président du MRC
Pour information, l’archevêque émérite de Lomé, Mgr kpodzro avait envoyé une lettre à Mgr Nicodème Barrigah lui demandant de dire la vérité aux peuples togolais concernant l’élection présidentielle du 22 février 2020.
