Elles sont nombreuses ces structures de collecte des huiles à moteur pour des fins que l’on ignore sur le territoire national.
De l’opération de vidange de moteur de camions dans un garage de la place, plus de 20 litres de ce liquide noir éplorée de métaux lourds sortent d’un seul engin.
Des huiles de vidange sont stockés dans les tonneaux et bidons. Elles atterrissent par après chez les collecteurs pour être envoyées au Ghana pour le recyclage. La plupart vendue pour des raisons bien connues à certains commerçants qui brûlent leurs produits avec. Une partie se retrouve dans la nature.
« Certaines personnes viennent chercher ces vidanges malgré qu’ils ne sont pas des collecteurs pour leur propre besoin » nous a confié Anato Kossi, responsable d’un garage dans la capitale togolaise qui ajoute que » d’autres nous disent que c’est pour aller verser dans leur wc ordinaires afin de diminuer l’odeur. Ce sont des pratiques qui constituent un véritable danger pour le cadre de vie.
» On les jette dans la nature. Quand on les jette par terre, ces huiles s’infiltrent dans le sol. Avec la pluie, ça peut dégrader la nappe. C’est un aspect dangereux » a rappelé Dossey Léon, jeune Environnementaliste.
Un litre d’huile de moteur usagée peut couvrir 1000 mètres carrées d’eau. Elle peut empêcher l’oxygénation de la faune et de la flore sous marine pendant plusieurs années.
En prenant rien que l’exemple sur les véhicules en circulation au Togo, plus de 10.000.000 de litres de vidange sont produits chaque année mais leur destination reste inconnu puisque selon le contrat de bal, ces huiles doivent être envoyées au Ghana voisin pour le recyclage. Malheureusement, plusieurs sociétés de collectes en contrat avec celles de recyclages convoyent peu, d’autres pratiquement rien.
D’où la question, » où vont ces huiles de vidanges collectées au Togo? «
Nous sommes entrain d’imaginer où sont déposées ces huiles qui se vident chaque jour des motos, véhicules et des machines industrielle en imaginant la quantité d’huile produite donc au Togo !
Que faire pour réduire cette forme de pollution environnementale ?
» Est-ce parce que les gens vont chercher ces huiles pour leurs propres besoins que ces huiles disparaissent » s’interroge notre environnementaliste.
La solution la plus simple pour le Ministre en charge de l’environnement, c’est de recenser les structures légalement installées pour le collecte dans ce secteur d’activité dans un premier temps. Ensuite prendre connaissance du contrat qui les lie avec les sociétés ghanéennes afin de mettre hors ces ennemis de l’environnement qui s’adonnent par intérêt personnel aux collectes illicitement en plus pour une destination douteuse.
La seule solution pour sauver dame nature, c’est d’emmener ces collecteurs togolais vers les sociétés de recyclages au Ghana.
Ces huiles de vidange qui constituent des éléments polluant peuvent être polluées en lui rajoutant des huiles plus épaisses et réutilisées. Tout en s’interrogeant de la qualité douteuse de ces huiles que les populations payent en dehors des stations d’essence, il faut prouver que l’on recycle des produits que l’on produit.
Somme toute, les responsables en charge de la protection de l’environnement doivent prendre à bras le corps les problèmes liés aux huiles noires pour la préservation de l’environnement.
