Niger-Cédéao | Nouvelle réunion des chefs d’état-major du bloc convoquée les 17 et 18 août à Accra

Une nouvelle date a été confirmée pour la réunion extraordinaire des chefs d’état-major des armées des pays de la Cédéao, qui se tiendra les 17 et 18 août à Accra, au Ghana.

La commission de l’institution régionale a adressé une invitation aux ministres de la Défense leur demandant d’autoriser leurs chefs d’état-major à y participer. Ils ont reçu mandat des chefs de l’État d’activer et de déployer la force d’attente, sans délai, pour intervenir au Niger afin de rétablir l’ordre constitutionnel.

Les chefs d’état-major du bloc sous régionale devraient se réunir samedi 12 août dernier à Accra, la capitale du Ghana, pour s’accorder puis faire part à leurs dirigeants « des meilleures options » quant à leur décision d’activer et de déployer la « force en attente » afin de rétablir l’ordre au Niger. Le rendez-vous a été repoussé sine die pour « des raisons techniques », selon des sources militaires régionales.

Pendant ce temps, les nouveaux maîtres de Niamey qui détiennent toujours le président déchu Mohamed Bazoum avec sa femme et son fils, ont brandi « la menace » de s’en prendre à lui si une intervention armée avait lieu.

Dimanche 13 août, le Conseil National pour la Sauvegarde de la Patrie (CNSP)  à également annoncé un procès contre le président déchu Mohamed Bazoum , pour « haute trahison et atteinte à la sûreté intérieure et extérieure » du Niger.

Et malgré les sanctions « inhumaines » de la Cédéao, le CNSP refuse toujours de céder aux pressions pour réintégrer le président déchu Mohamed Bazoum et revenir à l’ordre constitutionnel comme l’exige le bloc sous régional.
