En conseil des ministres mercredi 2 novembre 2022, le gouvernement a annoncé l’opérationnalisation du Fonds national pour soutenir le développement du sport au Togo.
Créé par une loi votée à l’assemblée nationale, le Fonds national pour le développement du sport (FONADES) va être mis en place et opérationnel.
Le sport étant un élément fédérateur, de paix et de cohésion sociale, ce fonds va contribuer au renforcement des activités sportives dans tous les compartiments. C’était suite aux efforts des différentes fédérations sportives que le gouvernement vient de prévoir dans son agenda, l’opérationnalisation d’un fonds national pour le développement du sport (FONADES).
Le gouvernement a déjà engagé plusieurs réformes notamment la mise en place des mécanismes de mobilisation optimale des ressources financières à travers la création du FONADES. Selon l’exécutif, la réforme envisagée pour ce fonds contribuera au développement de l’industrie du sport conformément à la feuille de route gouvernementale 2020-2025.
Dans la communication présentée par le ministre des sports et des loisirs, Lidi Bessi-Kama il est indiqué que la mise en place du Fonds national permettra l’émergence d’une industrie du sport à même de porter et de structurer l’économie des sports.
Dans ce sens, le gouvernement a déjà engagé plusieurs réformes notamment la mise en place des mécanismes de mobilisation optimale des ressources financières à travers la création du FONADES. Le programme prend en compte 8 disciplines sportives. Notamment le football (Match des étoiles, trophée de l’indépendance), lutte (Tournoi de lutte codifiée), athlétisme (course de relais sur route), Beach handball (Togo Beach Handball Games), Basketball (Lomé Resing Stars), Escrime (Challenge International de Lomé), Judo (Tournoi International de l’espoir), et le Teqball (Teqball Fun).
L’initiative intervient alors qu’en janvier 2022, le Comité National Olympique du Togo (CNO-Togo) et les fédérations nationales sportives ont présenté le projet » Togo Sport Challenge ».
Rappelons par ailleurs que c’est dans un soucis de renforcer la cohésion nationale, que le gouvernement avait décrété une journée du sport qui a lieu tous les derniers samedi du mois, et qui draine déjà des milliers de personnes dans les rues de Lomé y compris les autorités administratives et politique.
