Niger : « Suellen Tennyson was handed over to the Americans by the Nigerien authorities », Minister of the Interior

The release of American-born sister Suellen Tennyson has yet to reveal all her secrets. After the announcement of an operation by “American special forces”, we learned this Friday, September 2, 2022 through official channels that it was Niger who handed over the ex hostage to the Americans.

The Nigerien Minister of the Interior and Decentralization, Hamadou Adamou Souley informed the Council of Ministers of the release of the American hostage Suellen Tennyson, on Monday August 29, 2022.

« This release is the culmination of the efforts made by the Government since the kidnapping of the hostage on the night of April 04 to 05, 2022, in Yalgo in Burkina Faso in the province of Sanmatenga », declares the Nigerien Minister of Interior Hamadou Adamou Souley

The minister added that the nun from the diocese of Kaya, North Center region “has been recovered safe and sound by the Nigerien authorities and handed over to the American authorities.”

The Nigerien government “welcomes this release and congratulates all the actors who contributed to the successful outcome of this kidnapping.”

Suellen Tennyson spent five months in the hands of her captors before being released on August 29.
